Homeschool Mom Life :: Book Club - Winter 2016

**   Check back here often for links to the episodes.   **

I have been really loving and encouraged by Periscope lately and I had a wild idea the other night to start a book club for homeschool moms over on my Persicope channel.  My desire is to encourage other homeschool moms, and also glean from the wisdom of others.

Our 1st book club selection is a collection of 50 short essays written specifically to the homeschool mom.  My plan is to discuss 1 essay a day (Monday – Friday), so about 5 essays each week.  It will take us several weeks to get through all 50 of them, but I know that these are so good and rich that we will not mind spending some extra time savoring the wisdom in this book written by homeschool veteran mom, Julie Bogart

A Gracious Space ~ Winter Edition

There are a couple different ways to purchase this book title.

Please comment below if you have any questions!  I am really excited about this and I think it is going to be a great way for homeschool moms to connect and learn from each other.

So put on your pajama pants, grab a cup of warm cocoa, and join me for our 1st book club selection!!

Take a Look Tuesday :: Great Vocabulary Builders

Periscope - Take a Look Tuesday

Today we are taking a peek at how I use a fun children’s book in a different way to build vocabulary for my 3rd grader.  I am still getting used to Periscope and how to set up the camera, so please bear with my terrible video skills on this one.  It is quite comical, so feel free to laugh at my pitiful camera angle.

The books that I mentioned in this scope are the Muddle and Match series from Usborne.  These are super fun to read to your little guys, and as I show you in the video they grow with your child as a fun way to work on building those adjectives and dictionary skills.  DOUBLE WIN!!

Muddle and Match 2

These hardback books are only $8.99 and make a fun birthday or Valentine’s Day gift.  There is also a great way to save by purchasing the collection

Muddle and Match 3

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will try this fun grammar + copywork activity with your children.  I would love to hear how it goes.

Jumping Back In

Blog - Current Post
Merry Layne ~ 3 years old ~ Preschool

Happy New Year!!

We are jumping back into our new semester today and I thought I would try something new to go along with the New Year.  Have you guys heard of Periscope?  It is a super fun app that allows you to watch broadcasts from your device live and in real time.  How cool is that?  You can also leave comments and interact with me.  I am by no means a professional scoper (Is that even a word?), but I have been watching scopes for many months now and I absolutely LOVE this new form of social media.

Take a peek at my 1st scope of the New Year and hear some of my thoughts on jumping back in to a new year and new school semester.
