WriteShop01

Happy Friday Friends!!

I hope you all had a great Christmas with your family.  We are still on holiday break here at our house and I must admit that I am not quite ready to go find our schoolbooks quite yet.  However, I did receive some happy mail so let’s sit down for a quick chat and a fun unboxing…

What Was In My Package?

WriteShop01b

Thanks again to WriteShop for sending us these fun goodies to try this new year.  From my first impression, this looks like a great fit for both of my girls (4th grade + 2nd grade).  I am excited to dive in next semester and I will be sure to keep you all posted.

Learning is not attained by chance.  It must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.
                          ~ Abigail Adams

Don’t you just love Abigail Adams?  She is one of my favorite (perhaps even my very favorite) First Lady of all time.  I mean not only was she wise + patient beyond all measure but she also produced a son who became the 6th President of the United States.  I imagine that diligence was probably one of the main traits found in her household daily and it surely paid off in her son having such an important vocation.

Remember Mama, the good habits that you instill in your children are one-third of their education.  This is an endowment, an investment that is not to be taken lightly (or as Mrs. Adams says “attained by chance”) and should be pursued daily.  It will be one investment that will reap a mighty reward for both you and your children in the future.  I know that we all pursue the latest and greatest curriculum for our children and we want to give them the best extracurricular activities, but do not forget that some of the best learning happens right there in your own home daily as you “sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down , and when you rise”. I encourage you to pursue these things with ardor and diligence.

Blessings,

Take A Peek Inside… Simply Charlotte Mason’s Personal Calendar Journal

11.09.2017 - Product Review - SimplyCM 2018 Personal Calendar Journal - Thumbnail

Today, I am excited to sit down and share with you guys the 2018 edition of Simply Charlotte Mason’s Personal Calendar Journal.  Grab a cup of tea and let’s dive right in…

So what did you guys think?

As you can tell, I really enjoyed using last year’s journal and I am excited to use this product again in 2018.  This calendar journal is a great way for me to keep all those funny things my kiddos say + prayer requests + memories in one place.  Oh and did I mention that I also use it as my gratitude journal?  This thing holds a lot for me. It is like my mini family scrapbook + personal journal all in one.  I love it!!

I was also excited to see the theme this year of “Keeping Your Balance”.  In fact, I might just might make that my “word” for 2018 – balance.

Yeah, I think I like that…  BALANCE.  Who doesn’t want more of that in 2018?

IMG_E7974

I really think this would make a perfect Christmas gift for any homeschool mom friend, especially those like me who are inspired by Charlotte Mason’s teachings.

Here’s another peek inside the 2018 edition...

Monthly Calendar

IMG_E7973

Exclusive monthly articles to help you keep balance in different aspects of your life – family, homeschool, and especially your own heart.

As you can tell, I have really enjoyed using this journal and I am excited to use it again in 2018.

So tell me…  Do you have any good gift suggestions for the homeschool mom?  Christmas is coming up and I would love to hear your ideas.  Please leave me a comment below.

Motherhood Monday 2

Fall - Sunday Morning

Little drops of water, little grains of sand,
Make the mighty ocean and the pleasant land.
So the little moments, humble though they be,
Make the mighty ages of Eternity.
Little deeds of kindness, little words of love,
Help to make earth happy, like the heaven above.
                          ~ Julia A. Fletcher Carney

Happy Monday Mama!!  Doesn’t this poem just hit you right between the eyes today?  Well, I know that it does me.  It makes me remember that life is not all about the big moments, the picture perfect holidays, or checking all the boxes so we can have finish our school week the way we planned.  What it really all comes down to are those little moments in time that we get with our children.  All of those little deeds that we do everyday to teach + train them will add up in a big way at the end of their childhood.  I want to encourage you (and myself) to make the most out of all the little pockets of time.  Our children are watching us each second of the day – all 86,400 of them.

Be present with them.  Redeem the time with them.  Every second is a gift from God.

Walmart

Have you heard about the grocery pickup option at your local Walmart?  We have been using this service for 2+ years now and LOVE it.  You simply go online, order all your fresh groceries + household items, schedule your pickup date + time, drive to your local store, and they will load everything up in the back of your vehicle.  Easy Peasy!! We LOVE It!!!  I also love that there are no fees or subscriptions.  The prices are the same online as in the store and you pay exactly what you would shopping the traditional way but without the wobbly buggy and having to stand in line to checkup.  We all miss that part, right?  Ha!

So what are you waiting for…  Give it a try!!  I even have a $10 coupon code for you to use on your 1st order.
