Take a Look Tuesday

Today I am sharing a heart to heart book for your older children.  At some point in our parenting journey, we all have to have those “deep” conversations and this book from Queen Homeschooling is the perfect starting point to make those big and juicy conversations happen with our children.

This video originally aired live on Facebook.

Want your own copy of The Boy and The Rose?  You can find it here

The artist – Breezy Brookshire - that I mention can be found over at The Breezy Tulip Studio.

Storytime with Mama

This is the particular art print that I mentioned was on my wish list.  It is called Storytime with Mama.  Isn’t it precious?  I so want this framed in our home.  LOVE It!!

So tell me…  Have you read this book?  Do you have a favorite illustrator that draws you in no matter what the book is about?

Happy Reading Friends!!

Thoughts on Education

Emma Lee – 14 Months

What is an education?  I believe that one important thing about an educated person is the realization that learning never comes to an end in this life, and probably goes on throughout all eternity.  ~  Edith Schaeffer, What is a Family?

I think one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is a love of learning.  This is a true gift that they can keep with them throughout their entire lives and hopefully it will be one that will be a blessing to them long after they have left our nests.

Have a blessed Monday friends,

Motherhood Monday :: Thoughts on Habits

Walker Oak – 1 month old

Good habits can be some of your child’s best friends.  Getting up early (and cheerfully), daily Bible reading, cleanliness, punctuality, planning, good diet…  if they are an automatic part of his life, they will save your child much time, pain, and stress as an adult and free him for productivity.  ~  Karen Anderola

Ask yourself this very important question today…

What best friends are you introducing into your child’s life?

Blessings as you walk this very important journey that God has you on,

Motherhood Monday - Keep Their Hearts

Joy Lynn – 3 years old.

“It is a great thing for a parent to have such sympathy with his child that his child can tell him freely of his worst thoughts or his greatest failures without any fear of seeming to shock that parent, and so chill the child’s confidence.”
~ H. Clay Trumbull, Hints on Child Training

One of the most important parts of mothering is keeping our child’s heart.  We can do a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong but I truly believe this should be one of our MAIN goals to focus on each and every day when it comes to parenting.  We want our children to come to us with the big stuff AND the little stuff.  No matter what their ages!!  We want them to know we are a safe spot to share their hearts.

It really does not matter whether you have a schoolroom, a dining room table that you pack away at the end of the day for family dinners, a backpack that you take to the park or library, a computer that goes with you on road trips, etc...

Mama, it basically boils down to your attitude + heart that will determine your child's learning atmosphere. Look for little ways to love + encourage your children today.

Enjoy those babies this week,
