Do A Lesson With Us - WriteShop Primary Book B

Today I am excited to share a peek inside how our family has been using WriteShop Primary Book B.  You may recall that we received some fun happy mail back in December and I am super excited to begin using these materials with my girls this semester.  So let’s dive in…

As you can tell from the video, I am enjoying using this writing program with my 2 oldest girls this semester.  This program has been a perfect fit for both of them.  One daughter is writing at grade level and the other has limited writing experience.  I love that I can use the same level with both of them by helping my youngest with dictation and adding the advance prep activities, when needed, for my older daughter.  This alone is a huge time saver and sanity saver for this mama.  Plus, it is friendly on the budget by having both girls use the same program at the same time and I love that they are doing it TOGETHER, which is one of the main reasons we have chosen to homeschool.

As I said in the video, I really like that WriteShop Primary is an incremental writing program that gently teaches the writing process to children in elementary stages of learning.  It does this through a series of lessons with fun themes and the following steps:

  • Guided Writing – Teaching and modeling new skills
  • Pre-writing – Fun warm-up activities that point toward the main Writing Project
  • Brainstorming – Planning and organizing the Writing Project
  • Writing Project – The main focus of every lesson
  • Editing and Revising – Making simple improvements to the writing
  • Publishing the Project- Creating a final draft

As you can tell, the girls and I are really enjoying these lessons with WriteShop Primary Level B and I look forward to continuing the writing projects with them in the weeks ahead.  Stay tuned to my Facebook or Instagram page for updates as we go along.

Happy Homeschooling Friends!

I do not and will not ever work with a company if they do not offer a product or service that is relevant to me or my family. Please know that my opinions are always my own, and I only suggest products or services that we have personally used in our homeschool journey.

  1. Love this, Jamie! Thanks for sharing!

Did you make up the movements for “head”, “greeting”, “body”, and “closing”? Love that!

    1. Shari - Thanks!! I am so glad that it was helpful. :)
No, I cannot take credit for those. It was one of the activities in the WriteShop program. It really is a simple, fun program to use. :)
